‘Pet Options’ is an online pet pharmacy that provides all kinds of pet meds and pet supplies at low prices and easy delivery. Their products are trusted and their service reliable. They strive to put you and your pet to ease as soon as possible!

A pet be it a dog, cat, horse or any other animal can develop a number of problems or sicknesses during it’s life time which may cause the animal as well as it’s owner a lot of distress. Like humans, there are different types of animals even of the same kind. Like there are small and large dogs, weak and strong dogs; each dog has a different level of tolerance to pain and sickness and thus needs medication accordingly. At Pet Options pet medications come in different dosages clearly specifying the size, age and weight of the animal intended for. They have good experience and knowledge about the sicknesses and conditions that affect animals and the kind and amount of medication that will suit each.

The most common problem in dogs and cats especially is flea and tick infestation. The problem besides being dangerous affects the hygiene of your pet and also causes constant irritation, as such regular treatment should be given to pets to avoid catching these parasites. Frontline plus is a flea and tick control product that should be applied regularly on dogs and cats to keep them parasite free. It is a spot on type product and is very effective in killing fleas and breaking their breeding cycle. Thus keeping your pet healthy and hygienic, which will further avoid any skin problems.

Pet meds discount are also available on medications, home delivery and shipping facilities are available at discounted and low rates. All information about the products and prices as well as shipping facilities can be obtained by calling Pet Options at their toll free number which is open twenty four hours a week.

It’s important that you as an owner, are aware of most of the cat illness symptoms that can indicate your furry friend is in need of some help. Most cats will display a number of symptoms when they become ill and a little watchful observation by you will go a long way to maintaining their health. Some feline sicknesses can be dealt with at home, while others may require you to get to your veterinarian for a closer examination.

See below for 4 symptoms you should be aware of:

Depression: This is a tough problem to tackle, as our ability to communicate is at a significant disadvantage. Feline depression may be brought on by an untreated physical illness, or can be caused by loneliness, change in surroundings (I.e., moving to a new house, new owners), bullying by other pets, or mental illnesses that can be hard to diagnose.

Discharges from the eyes and ears: A discharge similar to mucous is normal from the eyes in small amounts, but if you see a lot of discharge from the eyes and/or the ears, it could be a sign of infection.

Frequent/Infrequent trips to the litter box: A healthy cat will urinate once every 2 – 3 hours and should move their bowels 2 or 3 times per day. If they are at the litter box every hour, or urinating all over the house, these are cat illness symptoms that cannot be ignored as they could be developing feline diabetes (especially if your cat seems to drink a lot of water) or have a urinary tract infection. Constipation can be serious, or they may need a higher quality food with more fiber content.

Hair-loss: This is one of the less common cat illness symptoms, but is usually caused by malnutrition or a variety of skin conditions such as dermatitis, fleas and bathing with the wrong shampoo (cats have oils on their skin that are essential to the health of their coat). Hair-loss and skin issues are cat illness symptoms that normally require intervention, so be on the lookout.

Taking care of pets is just like taking care of our children. Many pet lovers regard their pets like they are part of the family. Undoubtedly, pets are adorable beings. They become so cute especially when tamed and trained well to do enjoyable tricks. However, even if they are used to be in the house always, they too, just like people, long to see what’s outside the walls that separate them from the so-called ‘world’ outside their home. And in line with this, they become so prone to having unwanted fleas and other sicknesses because of their exposure to the sunlight and the environment, which we are not so sure if clean or not. As there are many pet meds available today, among the most popular is the frontline pet medication.

Frontline pet medications are said to be one of the best pet remedies available at any pet pharmaceuticals around the city or even online. But because of its eminence, some pet medicine producers try to coin the genuine products of frontline. They fool people with the product’s brand name.

Nowadays, counterfeiting of products is already rampant. Companies that produce those fake medicines believe that they can make money by selling counterfeits, naming it like those popular pet medications – and frontline is no excuse to that. They may be named and somehow priced lower than the genuine one, but the effect is they work less than the original remedy’s effectiveness.

Sometimes, these counterfeits come as a deal that is too good to be true. And yes, this holds true when buying pet medicines online. As frontline pet meds are really a ‘too good to be true choice’, bogus frontline meds are sold and advertised like that as well. And oftentimes, they are the most that are sold on a regular basis.

As there are pet pharmacies available to give you those frontline pet medications, you should be aware of the producing company’s reputation (that’s if they are trusted to provide the best medicines). Online pharmacies are one of the best sources of giving you convenience in purchasing medicines. The only hindrance is that, if you are not that mindful of their background, you might end up tricked by a certain company. So, do a little research beforehand.

To avoid falling into the inferior, fraudulent goods, be sure to check on the most reputable online pet medicine sources. If you are searching for discounts on frontline pet remedies, and jumps from one site to another just to look for the lowest rebate on the product, there’s a tendency that you’ll be taken to an online pet medicine scammer. And you wouldn’t want that to happen, would you?

The best thing to do is try to check the feedbacks or comments the website is getting from their consumers. Try to check on the products also that you are interested to buy from them, and if the site gets favorable dictums from the customers, then that’s great! Another option is to join forums or chat rooms that discuss about pet related issues (hygiene, medicines, foods, etc…) and ask from the experts that can help you about your concern. Question them about the site (if they are familiar with it), and the products that particular site is selling (if it works effectively or not). Do not be afraid to ask questions and take your time; don’t rush into things just because the product is offered at a very low cost. Think of your pet’s safety instead.

A responsible pet lover or pet owner would not want to risk his pet’s safety by jumping into a thing that he is not sure yet if it is safe or not, or if it is the genuine one or the irony. Frontline pet medication somehow had proven its worth in treating pet health related problems. The big issue here, however, is finding a reputable company that could provide you with all your needs – one that could supply you with the real ones. Let’s not risk the lives and safety of our pets. Let’s be wise and sure.

Giving a pet anxiety medication?

I work at a vet clinic, and a lot of people come in asking for an anti-anxiety medication, or a sedative for their dog that has separation anxiety, is very fearful, or has some other kind of behavioral issue. I personally would rather try working with this dog’s behavior through training and other techniques before I tried using medication. How do you feel about it? I am just wondering.

Answer
I think it’s the same as with human anxiety – you use drugs to assist the problem, not fix it. Sometimes, like people, animals can get so worked up that training isn’t going to get through to them – you use the drugs to calm them initially, so you can use behavioural therapy, and then stop the drugs when you think they’re ready.

People come into our clinic a lot around fireworks time for sedatives, and I fear they are just feeding their dogs the drugs without trying to fix the underlying problem. Often tho it’s because they don’t realise there are ways to fix it – but that’s why we’re there, to educate them!

Your dog is more than your pet. He is your best friend, companion, and protector. When he is not feeling well, the last thing you want to do is worry that there is something seriously wrong. Therefore, off you go to the veterinarian for a dog health diagnosis.

A trip to the vet’s office should be something that is done routinely. The veterinarian will give you things to look out for and to check when you think your dog is sick. With trips the vet’s office, your dog should have a few things done to him that are sure to keep him on the path to living out a healthy life.

Dogs should always be vaccinated. Several diseases are the culprits behind many dog deaths. Your dog should have his rabies shots, distemper, and treatments for fleas. Older dogs can have asthma or even a form of Alzheimer’s which is best treated by your vet. The importance of having regular check-ups for your faithful friend cannot be stressed enough.

A lot of the times, dogs can get the same sicknesses that humans get. Dogs can catch the common cold, a fever, and sometimes cancer. This is why it is so important for you to take your dog to the vet so that a regular, routine check-up can be done to check for any type of problems.

When you keep your pet in the best health possible, you will find that he/she will be much happier, and so will you. Having a dog that mopes around or acts sick is very worrisome for pet owners. Dogs generally act just as a sick child would who is too young to be able to express what is wrong. When your dog isn’t feeling the best, he/she can’t tell you that it’s a stomach ache or a headache.

He is relying on you to make sure he is healthy the same as he depends on you for being fed, walked, bathed, and loved. There are many things you can do to keep your friend feeling great and preventing serious illness. Your vet may recommend natural remedies to keep your dog in top health. When your dog isn’t feeling the best, he/she can’t tell you that it’s a stomach ache or a headache.

One of the easiest ways to do this is to make sure that your dog’s diet fits his age and any type of special needs that he/she may have. You want your dog to be energetic and healthy, not sick and lazy. Avoid dog foods that are high in sugars or preservatives. Just like us, exercise cannot be stressed enough. When you take a walk, it is good for your dog and yourself. You can hit two birds with one stone.

When you take your dog to the vet, a dog health diagnosis is the best way to be sure that there aren’t any serious problems. Even little problems can become serious. After all is said and done, your dog will be able to be happy and live out a long life as your faithful companion and protector.

Is there such thing as an isolated psychotic episode?

About 4 weeks ago my husband had an isolated psychotic episode. He had been doing some reading of Eckhart Tolle’s book, “The Power of Now” which talks alot about becoming present, and being one with a higher spirit… anyway, he had been experiencing high feelings of elation and overwhelming love, trust, goodness and positivity at work and at home. One night he went to bed, then sat up in the middle of the night and said he had to “Save his Father” he believed his father was the actual God, and that he needed to save him. He wanted to take our 8 year old son with him on his quest (who he had woken up to go give his father hugs) I tried to stop him from taking our son and he beat me up. He punched me in the head, elbowed me in the eye and said stuff like “Mommy is bad” repeatedly. Anyway, so then he took our son, and got in his truck, pulled over on the interstate to look for our pets (who were home) and got hit by a car. My husband then proceeded to ward off 3 officers and it took all of them, plus pepper spray and a tazer to calm him down. His leg was dangling at this point also. Anyway, now he is under house arrest at his fathers and he is not allowed to see the children. (We have 3) The prosecutor is trying to make it seem as if he is a violent man, but believe me NOTHING like this has ever happenned before. He is a kind, loving, gentle husband and father. There is no diagnosis of schizophrenia, or bipolar disorder, although his grandmother had schizophrenia. Anyway, the court is trying to put him away and because no medical condition has been found yet we are nervous…. I want my husband back… I had a white picket fence life, then it turned into a nightmare overnight. The kids miss him desperately adn so do I. Is there anyone out there who has know a similair experience? He remembers some of it, the feeling of needing our son to “save” his father, who was God…. and that is about it. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Answer
Hmmm, it sounds to me as if he had a random moment of mild Dissociative Identity Disorder (or in Lehman’s terms, a split personality). They are actually more common than people think and a large portion of people experience one throughout their life.
It is when your brain channels characteristics totally different from your norm at random moments. The cause is unknown.

It is a mental issue and a person is not able to control themselves, although they are aware of whatever it is they are doing. SOMETIMES there is memory loss and the person cannot remember the events that occurred during the events.

Pets are a great addition to any household. However, there are costs involved to caring for a pet. When it comes to sicknesses and diseases a pet can befall, heartworm is quite common. Pet owners should ask themselves: is your pet’s life worth $5-7 a month? That’s all it costs to protect your pet against heartworms. A once a month heartworm treatment can prevent your pet from becoming infested with heartworms.

Heartworms, one of the most dangerous parasites in domestic animals, are particularly insidious because they often show no signs at all until the infected animal – usually a dog – is heavily infested and severely ill. In fact, according to the American Heartworm Society, most dogs show no physical indications of infection until the disease has progressed to the point where treatment is no longer feasible.

In other words, when signs of heartworm become visible, it is usually too late to treat the dog for the disease. The best way to diagnose heartworms in dogs is through a blood test done by your veterinarian. A blood sample taken by the vet is examined through a microscope for the presence of microfilaria – immature heartworms. If microfilaria are present, it means that your dog has adult heartworms in his heart muscle and must be treated for them. The treatment is a long, involved process, and can be dangerous to your dog, so prevention is extremely important. To understand how important routine heartworm preventative is to your dog’s health – and to the health of other dogs in your area – you need to understand what heartworm is, how it spreads and how it affects your dog.

What Heartworm Is

Heartworms are parasitic round worms that live primarily in the heart muscle of dogs, though there is a growing incidence of heartworms being found in other animals including cats, wolves, foxes, skunks and ferrets. They can grow as long as fourteen inches. A single heartworm can eventually kill your dog, though infected dogs may have up to 300 adult worms living inside their hearts. A heartworm can live for up to seven years, and produce millions of microfilaria in its lifetime.

Microfilaria are also present a danger to your dog. The microscopic worm larvae live in your pet’s bloodstream and travel through his circulatory system. When they are present in large numbers, they can clog tiny capillaries and impair circulation, causing multiple problems.

The signs of heartworm infestation vary with the number of worms, the location of worms, the length of time the worms have been present and the amount of damage done to the heart, lungs, liver and kidneys from the adult worms and the microfilariae.

Adult worms cause damage by clogging the heart and the major blood vessels leading from the heart. Their presence keeps the heart valves from working properly, and reduces the blood supply to the lungs, liver and kidneys. This leads to a malfunction of these organs, including cirrhosis of the liver.

The most obvious signs of heartworm infection are a chronic soft, dry cough, shortness of breath, low stamina, weakness, listlessness and nervousness. Because heartworms impair circulation and interfere with the delivery of oxygen to the body, these signs are most obvious after exercise. A dog with advanced heartworm infestation may even faint after or during vigorous exercising.

A vet may notice other signs of heartworm infestation on examination. He or she may hear abnormal heart and lung sounds, or note congestive heart failure symptoms. The abdomen and legs may swell from fluid accumulation, and the dog may lose weight or be anemic. Infected dogs may die suddenly during exercise or excitement from congestive heart failure.

How Heartworm Spreads

Heartworm is spread from one infected dog to another by mosquitoes. The cycle starts when a mosquito takes a blood meal from an infected dog. The blood that the mosquito ingests is infested with microfilaria – immature heartworms. That microfilaria will live in the mosquito’s digestive system over the next two to three weeks, maturing there. When they are mature, they move from the digestive system to the mouth parts of the mosquito. The next time that the mosquito takes a blood meal, the microfilaria – which are now called infective larvae – are deposited on the skin of the animal. From there, they burrow into the skin until they reach a blood vessel and are carried through the bloodstream to the heart where they settle in to mature into adults. Within two to three months, the larva will be a sexually mature adult, and start producing microfilaria which is released into the bloodstream to start the cycle all over again.

Heartworm Prevention – What dogs should be protected

Because heartworm is spread by mosquitoes, it is most common in states where the mosquito population is high – but it has been reported in all 50 states. In states that have a mosquito problem year round, all dogs should be treated with heartworm preventative each month. In other states, dogs should be tested for heartworm at the start of mosquito season and if they are not infected, should be treated with heartworm preventative monthly through mosquito season.

what are symptoms of cats who have hd strokes?

my cat is 8 years old and had been throwing up for about 2 weeks at first i thought it was the hairball routine but it didn’t stop–i took him to the vet and had blood and urine taken and all of the test came back normal–he is acting really disorented, i need to pet himwhile he eats and occasionally he just stops wlkaing, sits down and stares into space–this is not normal–he is normally a very active playful cat–he has lost alot of weight too–are these symptoms of a stroke ? any ideas?

Answer
Hi there…feline strokes are not as common in cats, but can occur. However the lethargic symptoms your cat is exhibiting may as a result of not feeling well rather than a stroke. Perhaps you could consider an alternative veterinary opinion who specializes in feline-only veterinrary medicine. Blood and urine would have indicated if there was renal (kidney) or hepatic (liver) complications, but I would ask to be sure they were looking at these specific figures as well.

Here’s more on feline strokes from messybeast.com:
rue strokes are uncommon in cats and those that do have them usually recover faster and more completely than humans though they may remain slightly lopsided. Following a stroke, the cat may be temporarily blind or partly paralysed and may lose control of bladder or bowel. Most vets advise a “wait and see” approach. Once the initial effects have worn off, many cats go on to live very long, healthy and happy lives with little more than a head tilt, minor tremor or slightly wobbly gait as a reminder.

Saddle Thrombus (described in more detail next paragraph) is sometimes called the feline equivalent of a stroke and can cause permanent weakness of the hind legs. Affected cats may need ramps or steps to compensate. He may temporarily lose control of bowel or bladder depending on the severity of the damage. One of my elderly cats recovered well, but afterwards she always leaned on the wall when going up or down stairs.

Thromboembolism (blood clots) can occur in cats of all ages for a variety of reasons. Saddle Thrombus is more common in older cats and is often referred to as a “stroke” as the effects resemble a stroke. It occurs when a blood clot blocks the artery serving the hind legs at the point where the artery forks into two branches. This can cause severe damage to the hind limbs due to a temporary or permanent loss of oxygenated blood. If the clot moves and your cat recovers, there will be fragments of the clot in the bloodstream and these may hit the lungs, heart or brain. After saddle thrombus, a cat may be left with a characteristic hock-walking gait due to muscle damage. Some cats have a good quality of life for several years under veterinary treatment.

Animals are always a comforting presence to have around. This is why many people choose to have pets. These animals act as a solace and help them overcome difficult times and ease the stress on their minds. However, like all living creatures, animals too require care and medical attention in order to live a long happy life. This is why many important veterinary services like the Allen vet have acquired prominence in recent times. These medical services help in identifying and treating the problems affecting pets and all animals and help them live a more comfortable life. Over the years, the advancement of science and technology has introduced a number of facilities to allow for better care for the best care of their animals. Hospitals like the Plano animal hospital has made it easier for people to have better health facilities for their animals.

Pets are a very important part of many people’s lives. Their care and selfless love makes even a difficult day look very easy. It has been observed that the presence of a pet can release the stress accumulated over the day. This is the reason why many people look to their pets for emotional support in times of crisis. However, it is important to note that animals should be treated and taken care of well to help them live a longer and happier life. There are services like the Mckinney vet services and Firstco vet services which have come up in recent times. These provide the animals with a number of quality facilities for taking care of the health and medical needs of these animals.

A veterinary practitioner needs to be qualified as well as understand the needs of the animal well. They need to maintain a good relation with the animal and help diagnose the problem. Another important factor is the experience of the veterinarian. Experienced services like the Plano vets can help in easing the pets during their sicknesses. When choosing facilities like these, it is important that owners check for the availability of medical facilities at the veterinary clinic. Facilities like transport and immediate care are crucial for the health of the animals. Clinics like the Firstco vet are known for their quality medical equipment and technology. This will help in making the pet’s life far more comfortable.

There are many factors that need to be checked before customers choose the right veterinary clinic for the needs of their animals. Experience plays a huge role in the treatment and diagnosis process. Any veterinarian with more experience in the field would be able to diagnose and provide medical solutions faster and more effectively. This is why it is always recommended that owners choose experienced services like the Mckinney vet in order to avail of the best facilities. Moreover, these services are easily accessible over the internet making them a popular choice for people who have less time in their schedules. It is easier to look for services like the Firstco vet online and find the right affordable and quality services for pets on the internet.

Is there anyone else out here who thinks there are way too many folks asking Pet questions ….?

Who else out here feels there are way too many people signing on in this forum asking serious Pet/Animal questions that should be seeing a VET instead,.and way too many idiots giving out rediculous and incorrect answers to those often life threatening situations??!!
It is just common sense that if you have a dog who is not eating or drinking and laying there you see a VET!!! Or a rabbit having seizures.. you dont wait an hour THEN sign into Yahoo and ask complete strangers what should I do?
I realize maybe some can not afford the VET.. but then You should NOT have those animals. If youc ant afford to take care of them .. DONT GET THEM!
Am I the only one out here who comes on and sees this every time they sign in and just cant beleive it?
Oh and lets not forget the ones asking for Medical diagnosis or advice from ” vet Techs or Vets only” Please
NOBODY can make a diagnosis without seeing the animal.. And how would you know they are even VETS!????
So who else feels this way!?
Ok.. I dont mean advice or questions… Should I travel with my turtle or what kind of reptile to get.. how can I help an injured wild animal etc.. Or they have seen a VET and stillhaving trouble and so on

Then This is a great resource…!! really!!

I mean the ones where somebody’s animal is suffering and serioulsy ill,, and they have not yet so much as called a VET! If your rabbit is lifeless and shaking you dont sign online you go to the VET…

I see too many things where time is an issue that can affect the outcome and they are online rather than getting proper help.

Its frustrating for me is all…

Answer
I SOOO agree with you.
If you can’t afford the vet you can’t afford the pet. As harsh as that sounds, it’s what I live by. BTW, get a vet who accepts payments on a plan. Most vets who are worth seeing won’t turn away a seriously injured or sick animal just because of the owners inability to pay in full.
Why would a person leave a guinea pig to suffer for 3 1/2 days and then log on here to ask for suggestions to get her mind off of her piggie for a while?
Who would have the nerve to sit down at the computer to ask a question about a bleeding animal while the animal is still bleeding?
And why would anyone feel compelled to answer a question they have to start out like this: ” I’ve never had a *****, but I know someone who knows someone and I THINK I’ve heard…..”
Answers like this render this forum useless. It is very frustrating.
This is the Internet however and I always compare the Internet to a walk down Mainstreet, Anywhere in the World. You’ll encounter ALL kinds and not all of us are rocket scientists, Lord knows I’m not. So, we’ll just have to take the good with the bad, hopefully have enough common sense to distinguish between the two and run an occasional interference when we see someone spread absolute garbage that could end up hurting another.
Keep up the good work and don’t let it get to you. I’m trying, like you and I tell the truth as I know and see it. Sometimes that comes across as being rude and people don’t like it. So be it. I always tell them that if they don’t like hearing the truth they shouldn’t be posting their affairs on the Internet.
Have a great weekend.

Most folks don’t know the way to treat their pets when their pets needs them most. Amazingly , alot of folk don’t also have the education or information on the way to care for their pets.

The pet’s life might be endangered if the owner do not has the information. As an example : If pets has the aches and pains of old age and arthritis or it swallows household poison like chocolate, do the owners know how best to deal with it? Much of the time the answer’s ‘NO ‘ as they’re cluless on what to try next.

So the next-best action that an owner can do is to teach themselves better on the correct way to care for their pets. If you have got the information, you’ll be ready to. Quickly diagnose your injured or ill pet – so that you can immediately know if you can administer care yourself or if you need to seed medical help right away. Instantly begin programmes which have been proved to stop or stop illnesses such as cancer and diabetes – so your pet can live a long and active life with you. Delay bringing their pet in for treatment as the pet becomes sick after hours. Can treatment for chronic sicknesses because it’s complex or dear. Are not able to afford an office visit and / or chase up treatment. Most owners of pets haven’t any idea the easiest way to perform CPR, or start to give basic medical therapy to their pet. But you really should know these things, because in some emergencies, you can not always get to the Vet in time. And that’s the reason why it’s so vital for everyone who loves and cares for a pets to have the proper information.

So that the questions now is where to get the education and correct information? You would pay masses of dollars to assemble enough books to cover all sides of treatment in this one electronic book. Books concentrating on dogs, on moggies, on behaviour issues, protracted sickness, and even injury.

Then, you’d need to find books on herbal cures – assuming you already know which are safe for dogs and which for moggies and which could cause complications ( including death ). Add to your cart books on dental health, acupressure, and homeopathy. So it is extraordinarily costly and lengthy. So how? And what am I able to do? I actually love my pet and I need to learn stuffs that may help my pet. Dr Andrew Jones who himself is a vet has compile all of the informations that owner desires into one electronic book at a particularly reasonable cost. He has practiced Vet Medication for more than a decade. During the last twelve years he has treated thousands of pets for a selection of issues, and now own the Nelson Animal Surgery in Nelson BC, Canada.

Dr Jones has been practicing as a small animal veterinarian and has treated thousands of animals. He’s got a special interest in a selection of alternative, non-traditional cures for pets and has written countless pet-health articles.
Does it anger you when people post questions about a pet instead of taking them to the doctor?

It angers me when people post questions about a seriously ill pet with symptoms that they have to know are serious. Why aren’t they calling their vet’s office instead of posting. A good vet will tell you if they need to be seen immediately or can wait. And what you should do in the mean time. I can see posting questions about a condition or something you have already seen the vet for and are just asking further information or for people who have had similar situations. But it angers me that there are so many ignorant pet owners many of whom probably don’t even have a good relationship with a vet or even know basic information about dogs.Every pet owner should educate themselves about their pet including species, etc. That is basic common SENSE.
It’s been great knowing I’m not the only one who feels this way, I was starting to think there were a vast majority of people who didn’t care about their pets!
Thanks all!

Oh and Pale Rider, it became my business when they posted a question about their pet.
I sympathize with the owners who ‘can’t afford’ to treat their pet, but really isn’t it just as true that if you can’t afford to take care of your pet you shouldn’t own one. And there is low cost quality pet insurance a few dollars a month is worthwhile if you know a big vet bill would keep you from taking your ‘best friend’ to the vet. There are also many vets who will offer sliding scale fees to people with low income.

Answer
I agree. If your pet is vomiting blood or has been hit by a car, common sense (and love for the animal) would tell you to bring it to a vet. The not-so-serious symptoms such as “my cat won’t use the litterbox” or “my dog ate a small piece of chocolate” are more appropriate for this page.

But there are a lot of people out there that take in pets, despite the fact that they are not financially ready. Those are probably the people posting questions as well as the younger users.

I feel you, but whatcha gonna do? These people have found themselves as a pet owner some way or another, so we put up with their cluelessness and help out. Afterall, that’s what Answers is for. I’d assume that if enough people answered with “BRING IT TO THE VET” the message may get across and they’ll listen.

Your pet will likely experience bad breath occasionally. Of course, pets do have an inclination to eat weird smelling things infrequently. Even some of their standard food can smell fascinating to say the least. Occasional bad breath is standard in pets. But if your pet regularly has evil breath and it becomes a repeated problem, it’s likely there are underlying causes that need to be addressed.

Reasons for Bad Breath in Pets

The official term for bad breath in pets is bad breath. There are several common causes for terrible breath. Conditions like diabetes mellitus, swelling of the nose and sinuses and stomach issues may cause bad breath. Viral, bacterial or fungal conditions can also lead to dragon breath. Sicknesses like tonsillitis may be a cause. There are some unusual causes like coprophagia, where dogs eat poop, that might naturally lead to dog breath.

But the most common reason for terrible breath in pets is periodontal disease. Periodontal illness is due to plaque increase on your pet’s teeth especially round the base of the teeth where the teeth and gums meet. If not treated, plaque will not just irritate and inflame the gums, it can disintegrate the base bone that holds teeth in place which may lead the way on to lose teeth and ultimately tooth loss. Further, periodontal illness can make it hard to gnaw which will impact on your pet’s nutritive balance.

Signals of Periodontal Sickness

When it comes down to spotting periodontal illness there are a few signs to keep an eye out for. If you detect any of the following your pet might have periodontal sickness and you must contact your vet.

- Dog breath ( stinky breath )
- Disinclination to chew
- Discomfort when nibbling ( crying out )
- Excessive salivation
- Red or puffy gums
- Bleeding gums Tartar / calculus ( brown or yellow )
- Loose or missing teeth

Prevention

If your pet has lingering dog breath, it is time to visit with your vet to diagnose or disqualify any health problems which should need rapid attention. Your vet can also give your pet an inclusive oral examination and teeth cleaning. Regular teeth cleaning is endorsed to stop dragon breath as well as periodontal sickness. Maybe the best prevention is to develop a method for dental care. Each 6 to 12 months you need to schedule a regular vet examination to determine how often the teeth should be cleaned. You must also brush your pet’s teeth all the time. On a continuing basis, there are lots of dental toys and treats that might be used to help cut back plaque increase. If your dog is experiencing coprophagia, there are a few diet supplements you can use to help.

Having a continuing dental care plan and regular vet dental cleaning is the best strategy for ideal dental health and right way to be pro-active against the prime reason for dog breath in your pet.

Does anyone know if I should feed my pet snake now?

My snake (a ball python) hasn’t ate since maybe late December or early January. In January it was sick and it has shedded. It recovered from sickness but all I wanted to know is if I should feed it now.I’ve been buying rat pups for it but it never ate them. Its February, should I feed it? Is there something that snakes do during this time?

Answer
Well, they sometimes go off feed in the winter. Heres what i would do
get a pre-killed rodent of an appropriate size and place it in his cage
then take away ALL hides in his cage and walk away for about 3 hours
if he doesn’t eat it, ill be shocked
i do this with my ball and he has eaten every time

Today’s life is full of hustle-bustle. Everybody is busy making a living in order to have food on their table, financial security for their future, educational plans for their children, and ready-budget for emergencies like sudden sicknesses and hospitalization. However, there is an ‘extra’ member of the family that we also need to have a slice of our budget for, particularly for its food, medications, and grooming. The extra member of your family is your pet.

Sometimes, a pet can provide the feeling of companionship, affection, and unwavering love that can be unmatched by humans. A person who truly loves pets would experience heart-breaking grief over his pet’s death. To preserve the memories of their pets, most owners decide to cremate their departed pets and put the ashes within a customized pet’s urn.

The best way to grieve for the loss of your favorite pet is by putting his remains or ashes in a very unique urn. The materials needed can be easily found in the supermarket and hardware stores. You just need to procure a wooden box, magnifying glass, fine sand paper, wood stain, Krylon triple thick crystal clear glaze, scissors, pencil, and a black ball pen.

Here are the instructions on how to make an urn for your pet:

a. Using the fine sand paper, sand down the entire wood. Wipe off all the dust using a soft cloth or blow on it to get off all the dust out of the corners;

b. Cut out and place the pictures of your pet face up on the urn where you want it;

c. Trace around the edges of the picture with a pencil for an outline. Do this one by one with all the pictures that are going to be laminated on the urn;

d. Using the pencil again, write the words that you are going to engrave on the urn, right where you wanted them to be. You can make the words as large as you want, print or cursive;

e. Wood engraving – you can make wood engraving with a wood burning tool, which is cheap to buy. You can also make use of laser-engraving tools. Engrave your pet’s name, date, or whatever words you want to engrave on the urn;

f. In laminating the pet’s picture, stain the urn with wood stain by moistening a soft cloth and wiping down the wood with it, including the urn’s engraved area. Wait for an hour then stain it again to darken. And, after the final coating of stain, you can laminate the pictures on it after 24 hours or a day after;

g. In laminating the pictures, line the edges of the back of the pictures quickly and lightly with glue and place a bit of glue in the center of the back side of the picture;

h. Quickly place the photo on the urn where it is supposed to go and hold it firmly until the glue dries. Make this step one by one to other photos you would like to laminate;

i. In spraying the Krylon crystal clear acrylic coating, spray the pet’s urn while 10 inches away from it. Wait for 30 minutes or an hour for the coating to dry, and then spray as much you want. Wait for another hour until you are satisfied with the final coating.

While creating an urn is one of the best ways to honor your pet, there is an even better alternative: to purchase unique and customized pet urns online. You can browse through nicely designed urns to find the one that would remind you happy memories of your pet. By buying a pet’s urn online, you can save time and energy yet still expect a great looking urn to relive your pet’s memories.

Pet prescriptions online?

My vet called me the other day because I have been buying my dog’s heartworm/flea medication there since he was old enough to use it. (Sentinal and frontline), recently I bought it from PetCareRx.com because it was much cheaper and free shipping, she called me because I hadn’t been there in a couple months to buy his stuff and when i told her I bought it online, she says she had issues where the meds were fake. Has anyone had any issues with this? Now, I am scared that I am putting my dog at risk for heartworm, but its soo expensive at the vet, I just wasn’t sure if she was feeding me a line because they are losing money from us not buying his stuff from her anymore.

Answer
buying stuff online, big mistake, people can send viruses down your computer to read you credit cards and stuff, another problem is where do you go to complain? at the vets there are procedures in place and you know where to go, but online there is nowhere to go or if there is you will have to spend AGES getting it and complain and trying to get it noticed

It will cost more at the vets but at least you know that you can trust those who are selling it to you and you know that it will be good for your dog and wont harm it

I appreciate that it will cost more but this is your dogs health, take it seriously, how would you like it if your parents went and bought your prescription online because it was cheaper and it then ended up damaging you?

Sorry if I have seemed a little bit harsh but health is serious and not to be taken lightly

Heartworm medicine is known to be effective as it fight the worms that lurking around the heart and blood streams of your dog.

The same with humans, animals can get sick through the bacteria and viruses trough one bite of infected mosquitoes. By keeping your home and backyard clean, it can prevent the increase of infected mosquitoes that brings a lot of danger not only for your pet but for your whole family. As we all know that prevention is better than cure that is why it is best to get things done before it can harm you.

However if your dog has been already infected with a heartworm disease you must go to your veterinarian for the heartworm medicine.
USA vs. Australian Frontline Plus and Heartgard?

It’s time for me to buy my pet products for my Yorkie, Duke, again. I have noticed a huge price difference between the USA version and the Australian versions of Frontline Plus and Heartgard. I have also noticed that they contain the same ingredients, but… what’s this about the EPA not approving Australian packaging, but approving the product? I’d like to go ahead and buy from Australia, but I’m hesitant. Anyone have any experience? I know I should buy US to support my own country and such, but I don’t want to pay more for the exact same product just because I live in the US. Also, on the Heartgard… Duke was tested and found negative in December, but I haven’t had him on any preventative product since then… should I get him tested again or will it be okay to go ahead and start? Thanks so much!

Answer
I would pluck down the extra money and buy the U.S. version of the Frontline. You could wind up getting into trouble for ordering from Australia. Who knows?
As for the Heartworm test, yes, get your Duke retested that way you know for sure he is negative before giving him the Heartgard.
He could have been infected since his last test.
