Do you use Frontline Plus?If so,what is the best way to wash the dogs to rid of the many fleas that are out?

I put Frontline plus on about a week ago and we still have lots of fleas(we live next to a vacant lot and many cats hang out, will we ever get rid of these terrible blood suckers?)The main question though is it okay to wash dogs and if so what shampoo do I use that wont effect the frontline plus?HELP!!!!

Answer
Frontline Plus is lousy. And yes, you can give your dog a bath within 48 hours after any topical.

Are you giving anything for Heartworms? I have 9 dogs and have run the gammit on flea/tick and heartworm preventive.

I suggest either Iverhart Max (cheaper) or Heartgard Plus for heartworms. And Comfortis (tablet form) for fleas/ticks.

With 9 dogs I cannot even begin to have a flea infestation.

Also, there is a topical called Revolution that is for heartworms and fleas both. It is just about the same amount you would pay for seperate medications.

I stopped using Revolution because of the adverse reaction to the area where I applied it with most of my dogs.
